Mothers, the Keepers of Memories

Mother's Day is quickly coming upon us, and each year we struggle to come up with a great idea or gift to give to our mothers.  They are our teachers, they guide us, mold us, comfort us and scold us.  As youngsters we don't see the bigger picture of why they do what they do, and as we grow and get older we see how imperative those lessons are to our being.   So how can one specific gift convey to our Moms how appreciative we are of all their sacrifice, heartache, joy and work?

Just look around.  Mothers are the matriarchs of society, making crucial decisions on a daily basis that affect every part of our lives.  But even having the most beautiful home, well-manicured lawn, or stylish clothes does not compare to the pride and joy they get from their children.  And that is why Mothers and women of the family are usually the keepers of images.  They decorate their homes and their walls with framed artwork captured in candids and professional portraits.  They store countless images in their phones of those loved ones they are surrounded by, capturing a fleeting moment at the park, or a touching moment between siblings at home.

This year, give Mom the gift of something she will cherish, the gift of professional portraiture to store and document what she is most proud of, her family.  Not only will you make this a memorable year for her, but these will be those portraits passed on from generation to generation.  These will be the items future generations will be fighting over long after we are gone.

I’M  YASMIN

Portrait, Branding, Fitness & Studio PHOTOGRAPHER

Fueled by equal parts Earl Grey tea and passion, I spend my days capturing the kinds of images that make you stop, smile and ask time to please slow down. I believe in real moments and heartfelt conversations on the front porch. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together. I believe in images that are itching to be printed, placed in beautiful frames and hung on walls for years to come.
