I love sharing sneak peek images from shoots I've been working on over the past month. It gives you a little glimpse into the creativity floating around Shalimar Studios lately and often times sparks ideas within my clients for their own portrait sessions! It's so fun to collaborate with new and different ideas as clients come back for sessions. Take a look at what's been consuming my time lately and start thinking about how we can create unique images for you and your family as we head into Spring.
Last year I was contacted by Anbreen to photograph her daughter's 1st birthday party, soon followed by her son's 5th birthday party at Red Rock Country Club. It was so much fun getting to know another Pakistani family and being welcomed to their events and into their cirlce as a new friend. Recently Anbreen had given her son, Mekyle, his first hair cut at the age of 5 and wanted to document that with new portraits. So here is my dashing little Pakistani prince, Mekyle.
Recently I was contacted by Erica whom had seen the images from the Green Acres Girls editorial from last year. Erica is also a veterinary technician so naturally she was drawn to the baby goats featured in that shoot, and who wouldn't be, they are so cute! One of the models featured in that shoot was her friend Melissa, and after seeing that editorial she contacted me to have some new images made to update her modeling portfolio. We played around with a few different looks and were able to collaborate on some images to showcase her modeling diversity. Can you believe these images are the same girl? I loved working with your Erica!
At the shoot with Erica, we began talking about different animals and how I've been wanting to expand my fashion portfolio incorporating animals into the storylines. Coincidentally Erica has a friend with a 6' yellow python available for a shoot! We chatted about setting up a session for that in the near future so keep your eyes open for that project. At the same time I had posted on Facebook about shooting with snakes and one of my old co-workers mentioned his 4' python was available as well, so we set up a test shoot. Here's Beau handling his Jungle Carpet Python for one of the test shots from our meeting.
On the wedding side of our business, I have been so lucky and fortunate to have a vision for a shoot come to fruition with the help and assistance of some special ladies. The theme for this shoot is Circus Couture and was in collaboration with local wedding and event planners, Scheme Events. With their creativity and some fun characters, we worked over 2 months to put it all together, and it came true! I can't divulge more info until this shoot is fully published, however let your imagination soar as you take in the sneak peek from this fun, creative and collaborative effort. Stay tuned!
