I've been very fortunate to have wonderful people come into my life, and Marissa is no exception. She's young, ambitious and an aspiring photographer and when we connected on Facebook we had an instant bond. We met up at a local coffee shop a few times and her best friend Kristine joined in as well. There was lots of conversation, question and answer time, and a mutual admiration of each other. The time came for us to plan some practice sessions and although on-location times were limited, we opted for a marathon studio session combined with hands-on learning. You could feel the enthusiasm build over the days as we neared our appointment date; mine for the opportunity to share and pass on knowledge my mentors have given me, and Marissa and Kristine's for the opportunity to learn one-on-one in a hands on studio environment. All in all, we spent about 4 hours, talking, shooting and sharing and of course the evening ended with hugs all around. These 2 girls have a lot of potential in this industry and I know their enthusiasm and motivation will take them far.
