I love meeting new people and when I find someone with a good heart I just can't help myself. I want to learn all about them, ask them questions, and find out how they got to where they are. Sometimes their stories are touching, sometimes they are heartbreaking, and sometimes they are inspirational. I have to say, when I met Melissa from Vegas Henna, I was inspired. Not only does she do beautiful work as a henna artist, but she went outside of her own culture, taught herself how to do henna, and turned it into a business. It's not easy venturing into field where there are deep seeded cultural aspects, but to embrace them and share that with others is a gesture from the heart, and that is why I adore Melissa.
Melissa and I recently were able to meet face to face for the first time after many emails were exchanged. I was fortunate to spend time with her and feel how generous and kind her heart is first hand. What a doll! I captured some images of her for her website and I can't wait to see them showing everyone else her wonderful spirit. The gentle breeze that kissed her cheeks during the session, simply reminded me of her gentle spirit.
