I'm a member of a wonderful local organization called the Vegas Young Professionals (VYP). It's a division of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and is open to business owners ages 21-39. Every year they put together a fabulous event called the White Hot Mixer which this year was hosted at Moon Nightclub at the Palms Hotel. All those in attendance are required to wear white, bring tons of business cards and their best smile. So I grabbed Joey and we headed out for a night of networking with other local professionals.
It was a fun night meeting other professionals and sharing ideas of how to bring up the local economy. Of course there was lots of business cards exchanged, but most of all it was a wonderful opportunity to talk, meet and help each other out. Not only does the VYP put on this fun mixer, but they also regularly schedule Big-Wig luncheons, where a senior member of a local business joins the VYP members over lunch to discuss various topics of issues facing their industry and the Las Vegas economy. It's a very heartwarming feeling knowing I'm part of a solution of those caring about their fellow business owners and helping the younger generation to succeed.
I eagerly look forward to more events with the VYP and making Las Vegas once again, a powerhouse for business.
