I'm still getting around to editing images from my Africa trip in between client jobs, and today I made a commitment to put together a blog post from the Okavango Delta. While in Botswana in the Moremi National Park, (on the same day as the viral hit of watching a leopard leap from a tree onto an impala), we took an afternoon helicopter ride over the Delta. I was front and center up with the pilot, while my brother and sister in law were in the back seat. Recognizing I was a photographer, the pilot opted to take the doors off the helicopter, which made for an even cooler experience! Even though most animals can be easily spooked from the helicopter, we were treated to not only a scenic ride, but one peppered with red lechwe, elephants, giraffes, and also hippos.
Check out some of the images I was able to capture from the ride, and don't miss the video slideshow at the end; make sure you watch in HD. And if you ever consider a trip to Botswana, I highly recommend staying at Chief's Camp, right on the Delta.
