The Smartest 2 Year Old I've Met

Kira and Patrick.  What can I say about them other than Kira is probably the smartest 2 year old I have ever met!  When we met face to face for their Portrait Session, she was fully enthralled with our shooting location at Red Rock and in her perfect little voice exclaimed how beautiful the mountains looked.  I had to take a double take that such mature words were coming from only a 2 year old!  But, she is the perfect example of her parent's upbringing and teaching her about everything she comes in contact with.  They don't talk down to her or give fake little words to items.  They take their time and teach her both the English word and Japanese word.  So as the young 2 year old that she is, she'll soon be fully bilingual.

This caring, deliberate and nurturing environment is equally displayed on little brother and newborn Patrick.  Mom and Dad are continuing to pass on their knowledge and Kira has picked up on it, treating Patrick like a doll.  She holds him, is deeply fond of him, and has naturally stepped into the caring and protective older sister role.

It wasn't until Mom and Dad came to pick up their portraits recently that I was told that they had returned to our shooting location a few days after their Portrait Session and Kira fondly was asking where “Aunty” was.  Mom shared with me that Aunty is Kira's name for me.  My dearest Kira, you have successfully melted my heart and I know little Patrick will do the same when he starts walking and talking just like you.  I look forward to photographing you and your family as you grow, explore and discover the world around you.  Sincerely, Your Aunty.

I’M  YASMIN

Portrait, Branding, Fitness & Studio PHOTOGRAPHER

Fueled by equal parts Earl Grey tea and passion, I spend my days capturing the kinds of images that make you stop, smile and ask time to please slow down. I believe in real moments and heartfelt conversations on the front porch. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together. I believe in images that are itching to be printed, placed in beautiful frames and hung on walls for years to come.
