Boy, do I love photographing my South Asian clients and events! This time around it was a huge celebration for Kanika and Bharat on their engagement and upcoming wedding. This engagement was no surprise as Kanika and Bharat have been together for 10 years. Having met at the University of Pennsylvania, they have been by each other’s sides through all the ups and downs of college life, all the way through supporting each other through law school and dental school. Hosted at Pure Indian Cuisine’s new Royal Banquet Hall, the setting was perfect for this celebration.
There was even a mendhi (henna) station set up with designs provided by Chetna Sutaria of Henna Art Las Vegas.
And so the party began with guests arriving, greeting the new bride and groom, and celebrating with hugs, dancing, performances, and heartfelt speeches.
Let the party begin!
Bharat was a member of Penn Masala, the world’s first South Asian a capella group. (Check out their videos on YouTube for their dynamic performances and harmonies.) And being a member of Penn Masala, it was no surprise when Bharat jumped on stage and sang to the crowd, only to be joined by his fiance. You could hear a collective sigh as Bharat serenaded Kanika, and sang from the heart.
They later sat together as parents and siblings each honored Kanika and Bharat with kind words and well wishes as they start their life together as husband and wife.
Bharat and Kanika, sending all my best as you start this new chapter together in your lives!
